Congratulations to the Class of 2010

The 8th grade class celebrated their Graduation Ceremony during a Mass. We are proud of all of the graduates and wish them well in their future endeavors.

 
 

HGS Awarded The Earth Flag

Holy Ghost students were awarded an Earth Flag from the Dupage County SCARCE for implementing school wide recycling, reducing and reusing initiative.

Holy Ghost is a fully accredited elementary school serving Preschool - 8th grade students since 1948. Our school resides within the Diocese of Joliet.

Here at Holy Ghost we are dedicated to preparing our students to be true witnesses of the Catholic Faith, while our core subjects, technology, arts, and athletics prepare our students for an advancing world.

A letter from the President

The fourth grade class was thrilled to receive a letter from President Obama. He was excited about their environment project and encouraged them to keep working hard and dedicate their energy and talent to improving our country.

DRUG FORFEITURE GRANT

Holy Ghost School has received a $300 grant from the State Attorney's office under the Drug Forfeiture Grant Program. The money was used for an all morning
in-service provided by Alexia Brothers for the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students detailing a drug awareness prevention program.

Media Arts Department Receives Adobe Grant

Holy Ghost is the proud recipient of a grant (value approx. $4,000) of digital editing software to expand our Media Art Program. Thanks to all involved for securing this grant.

Target Field Trip Grant

Holy Ghost School has just been awarded the Target Field Trip Grant. Thanks to Ms. Mary Prena, our Media Arts Teacher, along with Mrs. Diana Mendez, our principal for applying for this grant. The money awarded will be used to offset the cost of our upcoming field trip the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

2009-10 Technology Award

Mrs. Sara Lasica, our Junior High Religion and Language Arts teacher, is the winner of the 2009-2010 Diocesan Award for Technology. Sr. Helen Jean Kormelink made the presentation at the Diocese of Joliet Tech Fest. She praised Mrs. Lasica for "not only integrating technology into her curriculum but also for integrating it into the lives of her students to prepare them for the future.” Ms. Mary Prena, our Media Arts teacher, was runner-up for the whole diocese. According to the diocese she is "truly on the cutting edge of technology.”

Pre-Engineering Program

This year we have added the Autodesk Design Academy to our curriculum.  The Design Academy is a comprehensive pre-engineering, pre-architecture, and interdisciplinary program for our junior high students.  It advances education in the key areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
